You probably aren't getting the results because the chamomile is interfering with the rosemary. You must follow the recipe precisely. Plain baby shampoo and fresh rosemary. Deionized water is the same as distilled water. I have just gotten through making a new batch and I've given it away and still have been getting the results stated in the article. You CAN NOT deviate from the recipe in any way otherwise the results will not happen.

Hi Angie,

My wife followed the directions as stated in the formula that you posted. The first batch steeped the rosemary for about half a day. The second batch (which I have been using for about 1 week) she steeped for about 15 minutes. When she boiled the distilled water she placed the entire contents of the rosemary. We purchased the rosemary from Publix.

My wife thinks that she might have used just a little too much water in order to cover the rosemary. We will start again with less water even if it does not cover the rosemary.

Thank you so much and I will post the results with the new batch.

Yes it only takes 2 c. of water and 1 cup of rosemary. You put the rosemary and the water in the pot together and then bring it just to boiling, you don't boil it for 15 min. You let the rosemary steep in the pan of water after bringing it to the start of boiling, for 10 min. Much like you make a pot of tea. The rosemary doesn't have to be covered with water, besides you can use a wooden spoon to push the rosemary down in the pan or cut it into smaller pieces. It is not necessary to steep the rosemary any longer than 10 min. USE ONLY 2 CUPS OF WATER AND 1 OR MAYBE 1 1/2 CUP OF ROSEMARY.

Hi Angela,

We will follow the directions as you suggested and I post the results in the next few weeks.

Thanks again

Hi Angela,

Thanks for sharing this formula. I still have some questions after reading your article.

1) How often do I use this shampoo to see the result? Once a day? Every other day?

2) Can I use conditioner or any other hair care product after washing my hair?

3) Do I need to wash the rosemary before I put them in the pan and boil them?

Thanks

When I first started using this shampoo, I used it for a week but saw results the first day. It took my mother 3 days of using the shampoo to notice her gray was disappearing. After that first week I used it maybe once a week or longer.

Yes you can use conditioner.

No you don't have to wash the rosemary. I cut it from the plant I have and take it right to the measuring cup I use to make the tea.

I have been using this shampoo for 2 weeks now. I washed my hair everyday and as a result, my dark hair became darker and shinier but the hair root is still gray. I have dark hair and have been coloring it for almost 13 years. I was hoping by using this shampoo I could have my original hair color. Angela, do you or do your friends have dark hair and restore the gray back to original color after using this shampoo? Thanks.

Hi Angela!

I just bought 750mm baby shampoo and instead of adding 2 cups of distilled water, I added 4 cups instead and increased 4 packs of rosemary (small packs). I figures since I am using the 750mm baby shampoo, I have to increase the distilled water and rosemary. Am I doing the right thing?

Yes you are doing it right, but make sure that you measure out the rosemary also. Don't just add 4 packs of rosemary, put it into a measure cup and make sure you have 2 cups. If there isn't enough rosemary you simply have watered down shampoo.

Hi Angela,

Its been about 9 days since we did another batch but my hair still remains gray... I was really hoping that this time it would work.

When I take a shower I just shampoo my air then rinse it. Are you doing the same or something different?

I am trying to figure out what I might be doing different...

Thanks

I usually wash my hair twice with the shampoo. But otherwise, yes that is what I do. I really can't say what you are doing wrong or why is isn't working for you. Maybe if you gave me a step by step description of exactly what and how you are doing it I will be able to see what if anything is not working. If you could do that then I'll be able to help you. Sometimes it can be even the smallest of things that we are either doing or not doing.  You should have seen some kind of change in 3 days.

I used:

2 cups of distilled water

1 1/2 cups of fresh Rosemary (I event tried a batch with about 4 cups and with 1 cup only)

1 bottle of baby shampoo

I boiled the Rosemary with 2 cups of distilled bottled water. Once it started to boiled I turned off the burner and let it seep for about 30 minutes (I let it seep more this time in hoping to make it stronger.)

I took out the Rosemary from the pot and poured in the shampoo. Mixed it really well and let it cool off.

Then I filled two medium sized bottles with the new mixture.

I also usually was my hair twice with the shampoo then rinse it out.

Thanks.

When I wrote before this last time I may have forgotten to tell you that when you put the rosemary into the measuring cup to push down on the rosemary with a wooden spoon because this will release the oils in the rosemary and then after you have steeped the rosemary either squeeze the rosemary or push down again with a wooden spoon to remove the excess water. Also, again, you may be over steeping it. When you leave the rosemary in the water to long it seems to loose something. I have found that 10 to 15 min. is long enough and it works better. I am sorry that you are having so much trouble with this. It's hard sometimes to describe how you do something that you do without thinking about it. Let me know what happens.  Also, do not change the recipe in any way.  Don't add more rosemary, or water or shampoo.  Stick to the time that is stated or it won't work.  Trust me I too didn't follow exactly and learned the hard way, until I realized that I had to follow it exactly in order for it to work.

I will try another batch without letting seep too long and squeezing the rosemary. I will let you know how this round goes. I am really looking forward to making it work...

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Angela,

I have tried again but it has not had any effect on my hair, still gray (bummer...). I am assuming that I am also not able to reproduce your formula close enought to work with my hair... I would also be interested in purchasing a bottle from you.

Thank you again for posting this formula I am still hoping to make it work.

Hi Angie, I would be happy to purchase bottles from you since I am not that good with ingredients and putting stuff together. Have you thought of making bottles and selling on the market?

Also, where I live has chlorine in the water. Happy with distilled for shampoo but will it still work with chlorinated shower water?

Thanks

Mark,

Chlorinated water changes the herbs, rosemary. That's why you use distilled water.

Hi, that would be a great change in my life if the recipe works. I live in an asian country and here we have chlorinated water in our taps. I wonder if the shampoo will work if i use this water for shampooing my hair????

As I have stated in the article and in many of the replies, CHLORINATED water will change the compounds in the rosemary, you must use distilled water.  NO CHLORINATED WATER.

Hi,

Do you sell bottles of this shampoo?
» left by Angela from Savannah, GA 2 years 103 days ago.
No I don't sell bottles of this shampoo because there is just to many things I would have to do according to the law and the FDA and I'd also have to have permits that I just can't afford. Beside I got the recipe from the internet. If I had created the recipe myself there wouldn't be a problem. I give the bottles away instead and take donations or on occasions I will tell anyone who wants to pay me to please donate the money they would pay me to a charity or to give it to their church.

Can you keep this shampoo indefinitely? Does it need to be refrigerated?

Thanks.
» left by Angela Carter from Savannah, GA 2 years 101 days ago.
no refrigeration. I usually make several bottles that last for a month on each bottle. So I guess yes it will last indefinitely.

Well, I had to come back and tell you that I have used this shampoo for over two weeks now - every day except one. I followed your directions, and what I have found is this. I still have gray hairs, but I think the color of my hair did go back to more of its original color. I had gotten darker because I used henna and coffee on it to hide the gray.

The gray seems a little nicer, but it is definitely still there.

I would still love to cover the gray, so if there are any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

A tip: 1 cup water with 2 tbls. vinegar (I used apple cider vinegar) makes a very nice conditioner - leaves your hair soft and shiny.

I'm not sure why you haven't gotten the same results as my friends, family and I have gotten. I don't add anything to this shampoo, I just mix the rosemary tea and the baby shampoo. Everyone in my family uses this shampoo, even my 85 year old mother. So I'm confused about why it hasn't worked for anyone else. I don't add henna or coffee to it, just rosemary and distilled water and baby shampoo and neither my husband or I have any grey hair.

angie, could be due to your good genes???

LOL could be. I've had people surprised to find out that I was 20 years older than what they thought. Thank you Anonymous.
